We want you to be green
Sure we can come in and do a great job cleaning with minimal environmental impact, but what good is that if once we leave you're just going back to using petroleum distillates and high volatility cleaning products? Well, we can do better than that. So we're offering a specific menu of products to help keep you going green while we're not around.
We now have most of these items listed on the online store. If you try to check out and the shipping seems wacky or off, let us know what you were trying to order and I'll help you out.
Water Conservation:
If you've ever run out of water on your well you know how important water is. And if you're on a municipal water system you know that water isn't free. You are paying for water on your water and sewer bills and you are paying to heat it. It costs about $.01 per gallon of hot water that you heat with natural gas and $.02 per gallon of water that you heat with electricity. So even if you aren't an environmentalist it makes great financial sense to conserve water.
Shower heads:
Earth Massage 1.5 GPM - Chrome $20 Conventional shower heads use from 2.5 gallons per minute (GPM) or more. This is our most economical low flow shower head. But it also offers features a massage spray setting that can be adjusted from forceful to gentle. You will use 40% less water with this shower head than a conventional 2.5 GPM shower head. Annual energy savings will be around $143 for electric hot water and $91 for natural gas heated hot water. |
|
SkinCare Series 2.0 GPM Max - Chrome $30 The SkinCare series and Five Star Resort Spa Series shower heads both use the same technology to reduce water consumption and give you a very pleasurable shower. This showerhead pulls air into 16 intake ports and mix it with the water to increase the velocity of the water and increase the oxygen content of the water up to 10 times. Since so much air is mixed with the water you'll hardly notice you're using a low flow shower head. Annual energy savings will be around $72 for electric hot water and $46 for natural gas heated hot water. |
|
5Star Resort Spa 2.0 GPM max - Chrome $40 If you want a very elegant looking low flow shower head that gives you a luxurious oxygen rich shower then the Five Star Resort Spa shower head is for you. Annual energy savings will be around $72 for electric hot water and $46 for natural gas heated hot water. |

This is the coolest showerhead I've seen. Why? Because it has ShowerStart technology. You turn on the hot water and when it hits 95 degrees it turns the flow to a trickle, so you can brush your teeth or shave while your shower heats up, without wasting water. When you get into the shower pull the cord and regular flow resumes. Estimated annual energy savings will be around $246 for electric hot water and $156 for natural gas heated hot water. |
Sink Aerators:
1.5 GPM Dual-Spray Kitchen Aerator $7.50 This shower head is great for washing dishes and uses 30% less water than a standard 2.2GPM aerator and a lot more than no aerator at all. Plus it's got a pause feature so you can turn off the water while scrubbing and keep the water the same temperature. Estimated annual energy savings will be around $82 for electric hot water and $59 for natural gas heated hot water. |
|
1.5 GPM Bathroom Aerator $1.50 There's no need to be using any more than 1.5GPM of hot water for brushing your teeth or washing your hands. Dial back your water usage with this 1.5GPM bathroom faucet aerator. Estimated annual energy savings will be around $82 for electric hot water and $59 for natural gas heated hot water. |
Toilet Modifications:
The first thing you should do is make sure your flapper valve isn't leaking. It could be the cause of up to 20% of your water usage. All you have to do is drop these tablets in your toilet tank and see if the water in the bowl turns blue. If it does it's probably time for a new flapper valve. |
|
Leak Detection Tablets with Tips Book $2 If you need a little more instruction we can also include a tip book. |

Chances are, unless you have a brand new low gallon per flush (GPF) toilet it's using more water than it needs to. One solution is to get this Toilet Tank Bank, fill it with water and hang it on the side of your toilet tank wall. It saves up to .8 gallons per flush! |
|
Toilet Water Fill Cycle Diverter $2 This thing may look a little funky but the principle is simple. When your toilet is refilling after a flush it is filling the bowl and the tank at the same time. But the toilet bowl fills up way before the tank so all that extra water is just going down the drain. You attach the bowl filler hose to this device and clip it to the toilet bowl filler tube. The more nozzles in the tube the faster the bowl fills, the less nozzles the slower it fills. You could be saving about 1/2 gallon per flush with this. |
Electricity Conservation:
There are a couple of ways to take control of your electric bill. The best way is to turn off your lights and electronics when you aren't using them and don't need them. Replace any incandescent lights that you use more than an hour a day with fluorescent bulbs and we've got a few more little things for you.
Refrigerator/Freezer Thermometer $5 If your fridge or freezer are colder than they need to be you are just wasting energy. The compressor on your fridge has to run longer to cool it and it needs to run more often. Use this thermometer to make sure your fridge is set to 37-40F and your freezer is at 0F. |

It's really hard to tell when your furnace air filter has bitten the dust. But if your furnace air filter is clogged you could be losing between 5% and 40% efficiency on your furnace. So you're using 5%-40% more fuel than you need to and the electric fan is running 5%-40% longer than it needs to. Punch this whistle into your filter and when the filter gets clogged with dirt the air will pass through the whistle instead of the filter, so you can hear when it's time to change the filter. Clever right? |
|
This little night light only uses about $.26 worth of electricity a year. It has a cool white light but it uses 75% less electricity than a standard night light and lasts 10 times longer. |
|
Take control of your power usage! Most people don't know how much power their appliances and electronics use. Now you can see how much power they use and you might be surprised. Just plug in the Kill A Watt to a wall outlet and plug in your electronic device to the Kill A Watt. You will be able to see how much power it is using instantaneously or over time. |
